Organisational Change & Staff Development

Actium is expert in people factors, change management, IT and staff development. We focus on changing the way you work through human factors and accommodation solutions, and have extensive experience of change management and managing organisational change including identification of human resource and ICT requirements, and the management and development of training programmes.
Unplanned introduction of new technology and workplace change can prove ineffective with associated user frustration and/or lost revenue. The focus of much of our consultancy work is on how one can introduce new working practices into organisations so that it supports people in doing their jobs. We have considerable expertise in cognitive task analysis and a general analytical understanding of change management and managing organisational change so that we can advise organisations on exactly what the new resources must be capable of doing and on how change should be introduced into the workplace. We also have experience of how technology can best support distributed team working and also how organisational and team factors impact on effective performance, to advise organisations on effective strategic change management. Actium has expert behavioral and cognitive psychologists as part of their consultant teams to inform and guide effective change within client organizations. Our work in this area includes:

Case Study 1: The Actium team carried out work for the Crown Prosecution Service on how to enhance effective team-working at the highest levels of the organisation. We explored senior staff relationship maps and provided advice and counseling on how to move forward.
Case Study 2: We provided advice and training to Ealing Council over a period of 2 years on a major New Ways of Working programme which has effectively enabled 2300 staff to work from 1600 workstations in their office HQ in West London. This work involved examination of output based management techniques as well as the introduction of a completely different working environment. It also involved over 5000 staff moves.
